Beginning Pottery

Tue. - Fri. - Students continue to work on their cultural vessels and get prepared to start glazing their past projects.  Throwing quiz will be on Wed. which covers the basic aspects of throwing and clay working.

Introduction to Art

Tue. - Fri. - Finish up sketches for the plaster project, prep plaster, and start plastering when ready.

Mixed Media

Tue. - Fri. - Students continue to work on their woodcarvings.  They will either be woodburning or painting at this stage.

Foundations of Art

Tue. - Fri. - Students continue to work on their memorial sculptures.

Beginning Painting

Tue. - Introduction to Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.  Students research and sketch ideas for their painting.  Quiz on Landscapes will be on Wed.

Beginning Pottery

Mon. - Wed. - Continue to work on your cultural vessel.  Do your best to finish by Wed.


Introduction to Art

Mon. - Plaster bandage demonstration.  Students continue to work on your sketches.
Tue. - Wed. - Continue to work on sketches, start sketching your idea on the canvas, prep for plaster molding.

Mon. - Wed. - Students continue to work on the woodcarving project.


Foundations of Art

Mon. - Wed. - Continue to work on the memorial sculpture.


Beginning Painting

Mon. - Wed. - Students finish up your fall landscape paintings and start researching Impressionism/Post-Impressionism.

Nov. 14-18

Beginning Pottery

Mon. - Fri. - Turn in sketches for the ancient culture vessel, print out the vessel you are going to create, make your template, and start sculpting when ready.


Introduction to Art

Mon. - Tue. - Continue to work on George Segal presentations.
Wed. - Fri. - Students present research and start sketches for the plaster hands project.


Mixed Media

Mon. -  Fri. - Students continue to work on the woodcarving project.


Foundations of Art

Mon. - Slip N Score method demonstration.  Students finalize drawings and start sculpting their project.
Tue. - Fri. - All students should be working on their memorial sculpture project.


Beginning Painting

Mon. - Wed. - Students finish up their landscape paintings.
Thu. -  Introduction to Impressionism/Post-Impressionism and oil painting
Fri. - Students start to research what they would like to paint for the oil painting unit.

Nov. 7-11

Beginning Pottery

Mon. - Fri. - Finish sketchbook assignment.  Make a template of the vessel you are going to make and start sculpting when ready.


Introduction to Art

Mon. - Wed. - Continue hand drawing and finish by Wednesday.
Thu. - Fri. - Start your group project.  Make a powerpoint  presentation about the artist George Segal and his artworks.

Mon. - Fri. - Students continue to work on their woodcarving.

Mon. - Tue. - Continue to finalize ideas for the memorial sculpture project.
Wed. - Clay demonstration
