Beginning Pottery

Mon. - Fri. - Finish all cups and bowls by Friday!  Work on your culture vessel drawings in your sketchbook.  These sketches are due Friday!

Mon. -  Fri. - Finish all Totem Poles by Friday!  Research a past culture and find inspiration from a past mosaic design.  You will be learning about the history of mosaics and the process of making your own mosaic.

Mon. - Fri. - Continue working on your plaster hands sculptures.  Turn in all past assignments!!!

Mon. - Fri. - Finish your Fall Landscapes by Friday!!!

Week 9 Oct. 22-26

Beginning Pottery

Mon. - Fri. - Continue research for your Culture Vessels and work on your sketchbook assignments.  When finished, you can start sculpting your vessel, with teacher approval.

Mon. - Fri. - Finish your Totem Poles and start research for your mosaic project.

Mon. -  Wed. - Finish sculpting your cups, bowls, and face jugs so that they can dry.
Thu. - Fri. - Start researching for your Culture Vessel project.

Mon. - Fri. - Continue and finish your Native American Totem Pole carvings.

Wed. - Read article on George Segal and answer the question sheet.
Thu. - Fri. - Continue plastering  your hands and gluing to your boards.

Week 7 Oct. 8-12

Beginning Pottery

Tue. - Fri. - Continue Face Jugs and Throwing.  Start researching your "Culture Vessels" when ready.

Tue. - Fri. - Continue working on your Native American Totem Pole woodcarvings.


Introduction to Art

Tue. - Hands Sculpture project introduction.  Sketch ideas for the rest of class.
Wed.- Plaster bandage demonstration.  Prep your plaster bandage for the following class and finish sketches.
Thu. - Plaster your  hands for the 1st person in each group who is ready.  Must work as a team!

Tue. - Fri. - Finish your Op Art paintings.  We will start landscape painting when class is ready.  Research different pictures of skies, trees, leaves, grass,  mountains, water, and shrubbery and print them out.  You will be making your own original landscape painting.

Mon. - Fri. - Continue working on your Face Jugs, bowls and mugs.

Mon. - Fri. - Continue woodcarving your Native American Totem Poles


Introduction to Art

Mon. - Introduction to contour line drawing.  Draw 7-10 overlapping contour drawings of your hands in different positions.
Tue. - Blind Contour introduction and Monochromatic introduction.
Wed.- Fri. -  Work on your monochromatic hands
