Thu. - NEW CLASSES! We will go over my rules, expectations and grading and will start learning about the color wheel.
Fri. - We will review the color wheel and start constructing your 3-D color wheel.


Beginning Painting

Tue. - snow day
Wed. - class wrap up and cleaning
Thu. - NEW CLASS! We will go over our class rules and expectations along with the introduction to the new project. We will review the color wheel and start designing our own color triangle design.
Fri. - Continue the design of the triangle and prepare to paint.


Advanced Painting

Tue. - snow day
Wed. - no class
Thu. - NEW CLASS! Students will learn about the class synopsis and expectations. You will start learning about how to frame, cut and stretch your own canvas.

Crafts

Tue. - snow day
Wed. - class wrap up
Thu. - NEW CLASS! Students will learn about crafts, art, functionality vs. nonfunctionality, folk art, and american folk art.
Fri. - Students will research ideas for an American folk art birdhouse and start drawing it to scale.

Introduction to Art

Fri. - Mid-Term Review


Art 8 - Period 3

Mon. - Fri. - Continue working on your popsicle stick sculptures. DON'T forget about your research papers!


Art 8 - Period 6

Mon. - Clay project update and loading the kiln. Scratch Art project overview and practice.
Tue. - Students will be given an article on painting clay. They will be required to read the article, highlighting the main ideas and will write a 5x5 summary on the article for homework. This will be due Wednesday. Start final composition for the Scratch Art project in class.
Wed. - Thu. - Painting your clay projects.
Fri. - Continue working on your scratch art projects. REMEMBER...Don't forget about your research paper on your sculpture.

Art 8

Mon. - Thu. - Continue working on your sculpture projects. Students will need to use their Christmas break to research their sculpture and type a 1-2 page paper on the history of their sculpture. Students will have a handout.


Beginning Painting

Mon. - Continue and finish your Macro Leaves.
Tue. - 1 and 2 point perspective lesson (all class)
Wed. - Oil painting review. Practice in class and research cityscapes.
Thu. - Research and discuss ideas with teacher.


Crafts

Mon. - Thu. - Continue your plaster ornaments.

Introduction to Art

Mon. - Fri. - Students will continue working on their Chuck Close portraits and will learn about grid drawing, chalk pastels, shading, abstract shapes and other materials.


Art 8

Mon. - Fri. - Students will learn about materials usage, storage and safety. They will start sculpting their projects.


Beginning Painting

Mon. - Fri. - Students will continue working on their Macro Leaf projects.


Crafts

Mon. - Fri. - Students will finish up their Woodburnings and will continue the process of making a mold in clay and pouring plaster.

Week 15 Dec. 6-10

Introduction to Art

Mon. - Finish self-portraits
Tue. - New project intro. Chuck Close portraits. We will be watching a video on the artist and also reading an article on the artist. You will be required to write a summary 5x5 in class.
Wed. - Fri. - Start grid drawing your matteboard and picture to get your portrait proportionally correct.


Art 8

Mon. - Wed. - Continue working on your Google projects.
Thu. - New project intro. through a power point presentation.
Fri. - Materials demonstration and start sculpting your project.


Beginning Painting

Mon. - Fri. - Continue working on your Macro leaves project.


Crafts

Mon. - Fri. - Finish your Woodburning projects. Start your plaster ornament project by researching pictures and carving your clay.
